Watch out litter louts

Malvern Editorial 2nd Apr, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

LITTER louts in Malvern have been warned to bin their rubbish after a clamp down by Malvern Hills District Council.

The warning comes after a Worcester man was fined £75 for dumping two large pizza boxes outside St Gabriel Church in Hanley Swan.

The boxes were dumped on February 17 before they were discovered by a resident, who phoned the council to report the littering.

Someone from the council then went out to the site and found the pizza boxes with a receipt which detailed the address of the offender.

The council wrote to the address asking for an explanation and the man admitted the offence.

In 2014 the council fined 13 people £75 each for littering – all of these were paid. So far in 2015 there have been 24 cases of littering.
