TOWN residents have been urged to take advantage of a free weekly event at a community centre.
The Showcase at the Octagon on Brookfarm Drive runs every Thursday between 1pm and 2.30pm.
There are a whole host of activities including chess, ‘knit and knatter’, darts, charades, pool as well as workshops such as crochet, vegetarian cooking and pastel painting.
Martin Lawrence who hosts the event, said: “This represents an outreach opportunity, welcoming old and young, male or female, to enjoy a variety of completely free activities.
“The aim is to give as many people as possible an opportunity to experience the centre and establish small groups with similar interests.”
