THERE was plenty of horsing around at an Upton-upon-Severn care home when some four-legged friendly animals dropped by for a visit.
Fern and Fifi who are two miniature Shetland ponies trotted along to meet the residents and the team at Beechwood Residential Care Home, in Holly Green.
The friendly pair, who are both the size of a Great Dane, were very gentle and loved meeting all the new people.
Fern and Fifi were visitors from The Phoenix Children’s Foundation which helps organise trips to care homes, like Beechwood, to help to support the group’s charitable work.
The cause aims to help enrich the lives of special needs and disabled children through healthy education, leisure and educational activities.
Tina King, the home’s activities leader, said: “All our residents absolutely loved Fern and Fifi’s visit.
“Their faces lit up when they arrived and they all couldn’t wait to have a fuss.
“Not only did the visit from the ponies bring joy and special memories to our residents but it also enabled Sanctuary Care to donate funds to a fantastic charitable cause.”
