THE ANNUAL Well Dressing Festival has enjoyed another stellar year with more than 40 sites transformed around Malvern.
A panel of judges cast their eyes over all of the entries which were themed on ‘Peace’ for 2014, marking them on visual impact, original theme, artistic merit and enhancement of the area.
A total of 26 Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were handed out in the adult and children’s categories at a prize giving ceremony held at Rose Bank Gardens on Saturday (May 3). Well dressers this year included families, schools, Scouts and Brownies as well as individuals.
Festival organiser Lionel Shorestone, said the chosen theme of peace allowed people to mark the beginning of the First World War 100 years ago in a different way.
“It enabled those whose feeling about war is ‘let’s not do that again’ and to take other perspectives.
“This year as ever people have come up with some wonderful creations.”
