West Worcestershire MP celebrates 16 years in power

WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Dame Harriett Baldwin has highlighted 16 major achievements as she celebrates the 16th anniversary of her first electoral win.

She has held this seat continuously through successive elections, since May 6 2010.

The MP was appointed a Dame in March 2024 for public service

Dame Harriett said: “One of the privileges of this job is being able to see tangible improvements in our local area which are down to making the case for public spending with local and national Government.

“I am fortunate enough to have been elected five times since in our beautiful area and I have put flood resilience, hospital upgrades, transport improvements and school buildings at the forefront of my campaigning.

“I must have knocked on almost every door during my time as an MP to listen to what people want and I have met hundreds of businesses from entrepreneurs and small business owners to hospitality businesses, from farmers and food producers to major research, defence and manufacturing firms and handled over 150,000 pieces of constituency casework.

“I’ve tried to be a hard-working local MP as well as a strong voice in Parliament and as I look back over the last 16 years I can see where I’ve made a difference and I won’t stop campaigning for other improvements to our local area.”
