Will you be taking part in Malvern's festive fitness challenge?

Malvern Editorial 22nd Nov, 2020   0

PEOPLE are being urged to get active every day between December 1 and Christmas with a new festive challenge being launched by Malvern Hills District Council.

The Active Advent challenge offers 24 challenges designed to give tips and activities to help improve physical and mental health.

It is aimed at all ages who, after signing up, will receive a virtual advent calendar.

Behind each door there is a link to a task to complete.

The fun daily challenges include practising mindfulness with a take notice walk, taking a break from mobile devices, making a nourishing smoothie and doing a desk workout.

At the end of some of the challenges there will be a letter.

Once they have all been collected they will spell out a Christmas phrase.

A medal is up for grabs for those who complete the challenge and send in the phrase.

The Active Advent challenge costs £3 each (which includes a medal) but there are only 20 medals, so availability is limited.

Coun Tom Wells, Malvern Hills District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “Looking after your mental and physical health is so important, especially during the winter months and with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“The Active Advent challenge is the perfect way to do this, by taking on small, daily challenges which will make a big difference in the long run.”
