INSPIRATIONAL people are being sought by a Malvern-based special needs charity ahead of their awards night later this year.
What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful (WMYDMYB) are on the look-out for children and families who have either gone the extra mile or inspired others.
The WMYDMYB Awesome Awards will be held at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium on Saturday, April 8 with several categories up for grabs including Parent/Carer of the Year, Child of Courage and Inspirational Child.
WMYDMYB founder Kim Philpotts, who has won two national awards and four local awards said: “It is really lovely to be appreciated as it makes you feel appreciated.
“So for me to offer this awards night on behalf of the charity to search for those children and families is really special to me.
“As we are a support network that supports families with children with disabilities and additional needs we feel that this year we wanted these people to shine as we support families in all areas of the categories.
“We also want to thank our sponsors very much this year as this event would not go ahead without the support of the community.”
Currently HDAnywhere – run by Malvern Town Football Club owner Chris Pinder – Liz Eyre Accounts, Hills Ford, The Downs School Malvern and Sixways Foundation have sponsored the event.
There are still more sponsorship opportunities available.
Tickets for the event are open to anyone, including children, and cost £15 per person which includes a buffet.
WMYDMYB are also holding a ‘Motown Night’ fundraiser at Malvern Town’s HDAnywhere Community Stadium on Saturday, February 25 with tickets costing £5.
