A MALVERN woman tragically died two days after a crash on Christmas Day.

The 41-year-old who has yet to be named, was the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta when it collided head-on with a silver Ford Focus around 2.40pm near Kidderminster.

She was first taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where she was treated with a broken arm and bruising before being discharged.

However the woman collapsed and died at home on Friday afternoon (December 27).

The incident happened on the A450 Worcester Road near Barnett Hill garden centre. A man and a woman who were passengers in the Focus were treated for bruising and seatbelt injuries.

Police said both vehicles were badly damaged.

PC Billy Keys of West Mercia Police said: “A road death is a tragedy at any time of year, but it is especially difficult when it happens at Christmas, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who subsequently died.”

He urged anyone with information to contact the force operations support unit at Rubery Police Station on 101 using incident reference 265-S-251213.
