A TEENAGE boy has been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Malvern.

West Mercia Police received a report just after 5pm yesterday (Thursday) of a burglary on Steamer Point off Bawdsey Avenue.

Officers attended the address in Pickersleigh where an 82-year-old woman had been assaulted.

Two men entered her property at about 3.30pm from the rear garden where the woman was situated.

They then pushed her into her home before one of the men put his hand over her mouth and pinned her down on the bed.

It was at that point the other man started to search the property.

The woman then gestured she needed the toilet and was allowed to go by the man holding her down.

She then ran to the rear garden and screamed.

Both men then ran through the rear door and escaped over the garden wall.

Police said a 17-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is in custody.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the area yesterday afternoon.

Anybody with information should call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 550S of June 1.
