A WALKER was rescued by paramedics after suffering a serious fall on the Malvern Hills.
It happened about 2.15pm yesterday (Saturday) when a woman, thought to be in her 50s, fell on the hillside approximately half-a-mile from the British Camp car park.
Ambulance and fire crews used specialist equipment to rescue the injured woman who suffered a leg injury and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.
Jamie Arrowsmith, a West Midlands Ambulance spokesman, said: “The woman was assessed and treated for a lower leg injury, had her leg immobilised and was given pain relief by ambulance staff.
“The difficulty was getting her back down to the ambulance. Crews worked closely with the fire service who provided their specialist off-road vehicle in order to complete the rescue.
“The woman was carefully moved on to the vehicle before being taken down the side of the hill and to the awaiting ambulance.
“She was then transported to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment.”
