WEST Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed a local craft beer producer who is looking to expand into pubs across the region.
Spilsbury and Jones Brewing Company produces speciality ales for sale at its brewery in Stanford Bridge using hops grown just metres from the brewery.
The company was founded by Tom Spilsbury, who is local hop grower and craft brewer Tony Jones after the pair met at a show in Tenbury Wells.
Ms Baldwin said: “This is a classic example of a company which could access support for hospitality business through the pandemic to grow and expand and I was given a tour of the impressive taproom and outdoor dining area.
“I’ve spoken up for our local hop growers in Parliament and I am keen to see further support as they are facing extremely difficult market conditions at the moment.”
Tom Spilsbury added: “The Covid loan really helped us out, and off the back of this, it has allowed us to invest in our brewing kit and secure two full-time positions and multiple part-time positions.”
