Worcestershire dancers total their funds for Children in Need

TAP dancers from across Worcestershire raised more than £500 for BBC Children in Need by taking part in a nationwide ‘Tapathon’ event.

The dancers, who all attend adults tap dance classes at Helena Jane Classes and Coaching, danced a routine to Tina Turner’s Nutbush City Limits at the same time as other tap dance groups across the UK.

The event was held at Inkberrow Village Hall and 25 dancers took part, ranging in age from 39 to 89. Across the UK, around 7,000 dancers participated in the Tapathon on the same day.

Dance teacher and organiser Helena Mitchell said: “The Tapathon was a great opportunity for dancers from our classes to get together and wonderful to know we were dancing at the same time as groups all over the country, raising funds to help an important cause.”

The group generated a total of £570.
