PEOPLE are being urged to make sure they get the right healthcare treatment this new year.

The changing of the year is usually the busiest time of year for emergency departments and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

And, with that unprecedented demand, staff at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust’s minor injury units (MIUs) want everyone to be aware of the alternative treatment centres available.

MIUs across Worcestershire are open seven-days-a-week throughout the festive season (including bank holidays). They offer advice and treatment to anyone with a minor injury.

Bromsgrove’s MIU at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital is open from 8am to 8pm, while the MIU at Kidderminster Hospital opens from 8am to 10pm.

The minor injury units at Evesham Community Hospital and Malvern Community Hospital open from 9am to 9pm. The one at Tenbury Wells opens from 9am to 5pm every day.

Local pharmacists can also give expert confidential advice, as well as medicines for a range of minor ailments. No appointment is necessary,
