Youngsters in Worcestershire encouraged to get involved with ‘The Big Ask’ consultation

WORCESTERSHIRE Children First is encouraging the county’s youngsters to get involved with ‘The Big Ask’ consultation.

Children and young people are being asked to think about their future and what services they believe will best support them going forward.

It’s an opportunity for every child in the county, and the country, to have their voice heard on national and local issues.

Tina Russell, interim director of children services at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The views and thoughts of children and young people in Worcestershire have been, and will always be, a key asset to helping us develop and deliver services that really make a difference to their lives.

“This is an great opportunity to influence the same at a national level, so I’d encourage all to take part.”

After gathering the data, the children’s commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, will lobby the government in a bid to improve children’s lives.

“The Big Ask forms part of a wider once-in-a-generation review into children’s lives,” added Tina.

“The wider review is called the ‘The Childhood Commission’ and it will identify the barriers preventing children reaching their full potential and propose policy solutions to address them.”

Worcestershire Children First is responsible for the delivery of services to children and young people across Worcestershire.

It is a not-for-profit company and 100 per cent owned by Worcestershire County Council.
