YOUNGSTERS at a Malvern school welcomed a paramedic and clinical team mentor who came in to teach them about the work of West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Mike Belcher, who is based in Worcester, went along to Welland Junior School and, during his time there, showed the children his ambulance and the equipment used by staff.
The trip was organised for the ‘people who help others’ part of the curriculum.
Mike said: “For most of the children it was the first time they had set foot in an ambulance and they clearly enjoyed the experience – especially the lights and siren.
“The children have clearly done a lot of work this term and their knowledge of how the body works and the role of the ambulance service is a credit to both the children and their teachers.”
