A MALVERN teaching assistant has shown huge dedicaton by completing nearly 100 training courses as part of her qualification.

Zoe Bakewell, a trainee at Tenbury High Orminston Academy (THOA) undertook a variety of educational modules during her Level 3 teaching assistant course.

She completed 92 courses across the training curriculum in less than 12 months, achieving a distinction in every one of her written and verbal assignments.

THOA, a member of Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), supported Ms Bakewell throughout her studies and classroom practice for the entirety of her training.

Zoe completed modules in Understanding Dyslexia, Working with Parents, Step Up Maths, Keeping Children Safe in Education, and Beating Bullying as well as in primary education despite working at a secondary school.

Her qualification was delivered by LetMePlay (LMP) and The Teaching Assistant Development Programme in collaboration with the school.

Zoe said: “I wanted to complete all the courses because I like to complete everything.

“I really enjoyed doing the courses and with a lot of them I was able to reflect back on my own practice.

“Some courses also gave me broader knowledge of what other members of staff do in a school and how other schools work, for example, primary schools.

“Doing the courses in relation to primary education also helped me to support my own children with their homework.”

Vicki Dean, Principal at Tenbury High Ormiston Academy, said: “We are so proud of Zoe and all that she has achieved through this apprenticeship.

“She has put so much hard work into her course this year and it has been excellent to see how she has grown in confidence and knowledge through her placement at THOA.

“We wish Zoe the best of luck for her final assessment and look forward to celebrating her success.”
