Barnards Green hustle out Kidderminster to secure victory

BARNARDS Green are up and running in Birmingham League Division One after securing a 32-run victory over Kidderminster on Saturday.

The North End Lane side opted to bat after winning the toss but were bowled out for just 148 in the 48th over.

Ryan Tongue (24) top scored for the hosts while Chris Steele took the majority of the wickets, claiming 4-22 from his 8.5 overs.

The Kidderminster reply was short-lived as they were hustled out for 116 in the 42nd over.

Sam Beardsworth (42) tried to salvage the innings at 80-9 for the visitors whose middle order had been ripped apart by George Rhodes (4-20).

Green travel to Himley on Saturday.
