Barnards Green settle for losing draw after rain delay

BARNARDS Green had to settle for a losing draw against Oswestry in Birmingham League Division One on Saturday.

The Shropshire visitors were all out for 242 after being put into bat, with opener Warrick Flynn (142) top scoring in a match-defining innings which featured 13 boundaries and five maximums.

Captain Robert Clarke also chipped in with 52 off 90 balls while Phil Harris (3-34) and Ryan Tongue (3-42) were the pick of the Green bowlers.

After a rain delay Green were set a revised target of 243 from 38 overs.




But they faltered in their run chase, posting 154-8 to claim a losing draw.

Adam Wiffen (60) top scored for Green who travel to Tamworth on Saturday.
