Burnage goes sub-40 in 10k

A TEAM from Malvern Joggers were led home by Sam Burnage who clocked an impressive time at the first ever Worcester City 10k on Sunday.

Burnage was the quickest of the team’s competitors as he finished in 39:35, while Ben Toon bagged himself a 10k personal best time of 42:05.

The event saw thousands of people line the streets of Worcester to cheer on the competitors, which featured marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe, who was competing for the first time since April 2012.

Several members of Malvern Joggers also got the chance to run alongside Radcliffe, including Peter Wilson (46:38), Paul Webb (48:32), Mark Gingell (47:53), Andrew Gallagher (48:51), Linda Hiles (49:23),Deborah Parker (51:00) and Lucy Gallagher (52:17) who all finished under the hour mark.




Jude Dendy (1:02:37), Anna Cross (1:04:25) and Annie Robson (1:09:55) also recorded good times after tackling the Worcester course, which started at Croft Road and finished at the city’s racecourse.
