BARNARDS Green have signed impressive Australian teenage prodigy Kyle Giniotis for their 2016 campaign.
Giniotis, 17 – a talented batsman in the making – has represented the Australian Under-16s, South Australia Schools and is into his second season’s first grade cricket for Northern Jets.
A keen and clever batsman, Giniotis is also a strong leg spin bowler and is set to get his first experience of English cricket with the Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League Division One side.
The all-rounder has played for the Jets since the age of 12.
In 2012/13, he scored 1,044 runs at 54.95 for the Jets, a tally that included 100 fours and 40 sixes.
Of his thousand plus runs, 770 were scored for the Under-14 Reds, all with an average of 77 to top the SACA Under-14 aggregates.
He belted two notable innings, a blistering 168-ball 212* then two innings later a 76-ball 109.
He was subsequently selected for the Australian Under-16s who toured Sri Lanka and since wearing the coveted green and gold colours, he has broken into first-grade cricket for the Jets (2014/15).
Having been promoted to open the batting this summer, he has impressed for the Jets with a string of performances.
Since January, he has notched up scores of 30, 77 and 88 for the Under-17s; 43, 25, 87 and 60 for the 2nd Grade; before his promotion back up to the top flight, where he has produced scores of 24 (in the One-Day Cup Quarter-Final), 64 and 42 against Prospect District, Adelaide and University respectively.
