**The NCEL, which first started in 1982, is a football league located at Step 5 on the non-league pyramid, one level above the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division which Malvern Town currently occupy.

Promotion from the NCEL leads to Division One North or Division One South of the Northern Premier League.

Worksop used to be in the NPL until the end of the 2013/14 season when owner Jason Clark announced he would be longer funding the club.

This plunged The Tigers into deep financial crisis and shortly afterwards, the decision was taken to resign from the NPL and join the NCEL.
