MALVERN Town romped to a 5-1 win against Redditch Borough to advance to the next round of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.
Goals from Charlie Johnson, Levi Francis, Ben Hayes, Alex Bell and Miles Ferguson helped the Hillsiders to a dominant win at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
Malvern play two levels above Redditch who ply their trade in Hellenic League Division One.
And the Hillsiders made a blistering start, scoring four goals in the opening 33 minutes to leave the visitors stunned.
Lee Hooper’s side took the lead after just eight minutes when Johnson nodded in a corner from close range.
And the home side doubled their lead on 16 minutes as Francis collected Johnson’s throw-in, jinked past a defender and smashed a shot into the bottom corner.
Malvern extended their lead just past the half-hour mark when Francis found Clark in the box who in turn squared the ball to Hayes who tapped home from close range.
And the Hillsiders struck again moments later as Bell finished under the Redditch goalkeeper from close range to all but end the game as a contest.
The home side were left incensed shortly before half time following a strong challenge on Francis.
The Borough player received a yellow card for the tackle with Francis forced off through injury.
Malvern scored their fifth goal on 58 minutes as Ferguson nodded in a free-kick from the right from close range.
Borough scored a consolation goal with 10 minutes left to play as the Hillsiders eased into the next round of the competition.
Malvern are next in action against Winchester City on Saturday, October 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
