MALVERN Town slipped to a late 3-2 home defeat against Mousehole as the Hillsiders saw their winless run stretch to five matches.

Goals from Sam Clark and Jack Watts drew Malvern level after the visitors raced into a two-goal lead at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.

However, Hayden Turner’s superb effort six minutes from time condemned the home side to a third straight league defeat.

The result means Malvern sit 15th in the Southern League Division One South table.

Mousehole broke the deadlock after just eight minutes as Tim Nixon’s low cross from the left looped off the boot of Dion Molyneux and over Town goalkeeper Lewis Adams.

And Nixon doubled Mousehole’s lead on 23 minutes with a simple finish at the back post from close range.

Malvern halved the deficit on the half-hour mark as Clark chipped the ball over the goalkeeper before touching home from a couple of yards out.

And the Hillsiders equalised on the hour mark as Watts fired home from the penalty spot after a Mousehole player handled the ball in the box.

However, the visitors won the game in style on 84 minutes when Turner chipped the ball over Adams from 30-yards out.

Malvern are next in action against Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Saturday, January 11 with kick-off at 3pm at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
