MALVERN Town suffered a shock 4-2 defeat against rivals Worcester Raiders to exit the FA Cup at the preliminary round stage.
The Hillsiders found themselves three goals behind inside half an hour before Ryan Brunt struck to reduce the deficit at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
And Levi Francis scored early in the second half to close the gap to a single goal only for Raiders to net again soon after.
Raiders broke the deadlock on 12 minutes when Dan Noke rose highest at a corner to head home.
And Worcester struck again less than a minute later as Jordan Murphy curled a shot under Malvern goalkeeper Seth Locke.
The visitors extended their lead on 25 minutes when Adam Taylor finished well to leave the home side stunned.
Malvern reduced the deficit two minutes later as Brunt smashed the ball home from a corner.
And the Hillsiders struck again two minutes after half time when Harry Clark played in Francis who rounded the goalkeeper to score.
However, Raiders restored their two-goal cushion on 51 minutes as Murphy scored his second of the game to confirm Malvern’s exit from the competition.
Malvern are next in action against Shaftesbury on Saturday, August 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
