RORY MATHEWS hit a half century for Hanley Castle & Upton who got their first Worcestershire County League Division Three victory at the ninth time of asking after beating bottom-of-the-table Malvern.
Malvern were put into bat after losing the toss where they were bustled out for 154 in the 38th over.
Tom Hale (58) top scored while Tony Hutchings (4-20) and William Barrell (3-29) did the damage with the ball.
After a slow start in reply, Mathews steadied the ship with Will St Ledger-Chambers (22), Daniel Powell (26) and Grant Mathews (14 not out) also breaking into double figures as Hanley reached 157-8 with seven overs to spare.
Hanley play host to Alvechurch & Hopwood on Saturday while Malvern welcome Bromsgrove Thirds to the Ramblers Ground.
