HANLEY Castle & Upton remain in the Worcestershire County League Division Three relegation zone after falling to a crushing 119-run defeat at Martley.

Martley set an imposing target of 324-8 from their allocated 50 overs, with the help of 71 extras which featured 64 wides.

James Ganderton (59) was the highest scoring batsman.

Although Hanley gave it a good go in response, they were limited to 205-9 after 50 overs.




Lower order batsman Grant Mathews (49) top scored.

Hanley travel to bottom-of-the-table Malvern on Saturday.
