KEMPSEY brought an end to their ten-game winless run in Worcestershire County League Division Two with a confidence-boosting three-wicket victory over Wormelow.
Wormelow set a respectable score of 246-6 from their 50 overs with Ben Gunn (67), Joe Snow (45), Jasper Linley-Adams (44) and Luke Jones (37) hitting the majority of the runs.
Kempsey slipped to 23-2 in reply but a swashbuckling innings from Chris Jones, who finished on 109 not out, guided the visitors to 249-7 with three overs to spare.
Ironically the last time last season’s Division Three champions tasted victory was a 112-run success over last Saturday’s opponents back in May.
Second-from-bottom Kempsey, who sit 50 points adrift of safety, travel to Old Vigornians on Saturday.
