KEMPSEY were left licking their wounds after they suffered a five-wicket defeat to Old Vigornians in Worcestershire County League Division Two.
Last year’s Division Three runners-up were all out for a well below-par 80 after 29 overs.
Lance Ohren (24), Steve Winstanley (11) and Nat Wallis (11) were the only players to reach double figures while Max Richardson (4-12) and Edward Burgoyne (4-29) were the pick of the Vigornians bowlers.
In reply Vigornians looked deep in trouble at 18-4 but it was the partnership between Mohammed Ibrar (30 not out) and Azmat Riaz (21no) which pushed the score to 82-5 to gift Vigornians their first win of the season.
Kempsey make the trip to Oldswinford & Stourbridge Social on Saturday.
