KEMPSEY’S inconsistency with the bat continued as they crashed to a heavy 152-run defeat at Bredon in Worcestershire County League Division Two.
Promotion-chasing Bredon chose to bat after winning the toss and posted a daunting 275-6 from their allotted 50 overs.
Martin Hill (71) top scored and was ably supported by Tim Fenney (46), Jamie Munro (36) and Cormach Papirnink (49).
Kempsey never got going in reply and quickly fell to 55-5.
Top scorer Joshua Jones (42) was next out with the score at 96, leaving Kempsey with a huge mountain to climb.
Dominic Fenney (3-20) and Martin Hill (2-6) cleaned up the lower order as Kempsey were all out for 123.
Kempsey entertain Belbroughton on Saturday.
