KEMPSEY’S Men’s B moved to the top of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Winter League Division Five West with a 4-0 victory over Manor Park F.
Playing against an experienced Park side, Kempsey drew first blood in a closely fought first round of matches with Paul Roberts and Timothy Davis coming from 4-1 down to win 6-4, 6-4.
Despite leading the first set 4-1, Jonathan Packer and Simon Cuthbertson had to battle from a set down to win their close encounter 5-7, 7-6, 6-4.
Momentum swung Kempsey’s way in the second round of matches, with Cuthbertson and Packer coming through against Park’s second pair 6-1, 6-3 before Roberts and Davis secured maximum points for the team with a 6-4, 6-1 win.
The victory lifts the Men’s B to the top of the table with 18 points from three fixtures.
Their next match is an away trip to Ludlow on December 3.
