MALVERN golfing sensation Lucy Walton finished in sixth place in the under-21 Nick Faldo Series Grand Final.
Lucy, a Year 13 pupil at Malvern St James Girls’ School, took part in three-day competition earlier this month at Stoke by Nayland Golf Club in Leavenheath, Colchester.
The 17-year-old came up against competitors from across the globe and scored rounds of 76, 76 and 73 respectively, with her final day’s score being the best of the day out of everybody taking part.
This is the second time Lucy has competed in the Nick Faldo Series after she finished third in the under-16s section in 2014.
A release from the school said Lucy was delighted to meet Sir Nick Faldo once again and learn from both him and his coach during coaching sessions throughout the week.
British golfing legend Sir Nick created the series in 1996 to give valuable opportunities to young people through golf and to help identify and nurture the next generation of champions. Past winners include major champion Rory McIlroy.
