Malvern begin league campaign at Smethwick

MALVERN Town will begin their 2016/17 West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division campaign with a trip to Smethwick.

Following their FA Cup extra preliminary round tie against Rocester next Saturday, the Hillsiders will start their promotion hunt on Tuesday, August 9 when they travel to Hillcrest Avenue to face the Black Country side.

Malvern then have a run of three consecutive home games as they welcome Bilston Town Community (August 13), Pegasus Juniors (August 17) and Bewdley Town (August 24) to the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.

Les Jones’ side then face a tough fixture away at potential title favourites AFC Bridgnorth, who have ended the last two campaigns as runners-up, on Saturday, August 27 before completing the month on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29) at Herefordshire-based Wellington.

The rest of Malvern’s fixtures will be released in due course.
