Malvern boss Cook primed and ready for new season

Malvern Editorial 27th Jun, 2017   0

MALVERN’S new director of rugby Rob Cook says he’s excited for the new Midlands Three West (South) campaign and relishing putting his boots on once more.

The former Gloucester full-back was appointed as boss for the 2017/18 campaign in March and will officially take charge once pre-season training begins at Spring Lane next Tuesday at 7pm.

Cook said: “It really is exciting times for the club, I have been keeping an eye on the first team’s results and they really had a great run of form from Christmas last season and we want to keep that momentum going into pre-season so we can really hit the ground running come September.

“We have managed to keep hold of most of the squad and have recruited where necessary to really help with strength and depth in both the first team and second team.

“I am also really excited to be playing with the boys this year, I coached the team a few years back and had a real bond with the club so it will be great to be able to put the jersey on this time round, if I am selected.”

All players new and old are welcome to Malvern’s pre-season training.
