Malvern CC eyeing new additions

Malvern Editorial 19th Feb, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

MALVERN Cricket Club are on the lookout for talent new players in the area as they gear up ahead of the 2015 season.

A series of net sessions will be held at Malvern College over the next six Sunday evenings where people will get the chance to trial for next season’s team.

Non-members and current players are invited to attend the college’s sports centre from February, 22 through to March 29, between 6.30pm and 8pm.

Don Bendall, chairman of the Regency Road Club in Malvern Link, said: “We currently run three Saturday league teams and so there is scope for players of all abilities to enjoy this beautiful game.

“There may be people out there in their 20s 30s 40s or older who haven’t played recently and there may be others whose schooldays have only just finished.

“We want to tap into the vast market of cricket lovers who want to continue playing the game but maybe feel a little hesitant taking the first step.”

The net sessions are open to anyone over the age of 16 as the club also runs a comprehensive junior section.
