MALVERN Town skipper Reece King is to face two months on the sidelines after suffering a serious leg injury during Tuesday’s cup victory over Dudley Sports.
King was taken to hospital after sustaining the injury in the Worcestershire Senior Urn quarter-final tie, which Malvern ended up winning 4-2.
Tests have since shown King has broken a fibula bone which will take around six weeks to heal.
In a tweet to the Malvern Observer, King said: “(the) cast off in six weeks, consultant said back playing in eight weeks.”
It means King is likely to miss the remainder of Malvern’s fixtures in 2016 including games against their promotion rivals Haugmond (December 17) and Wolverhampton Sporting (December 31).
Dudley Sports also tweeted their best wishes to King after the game.
Best wishes to @reeceking08, currently in hospital with a leg injury sustained during tonight's game.
