MALVERN Town moved to the top of the West Midlands (Regional) Premier League after maintaining their 100 per cent winning start in superb style by thrashing Pegasus Juniors 5-0.

The Hillsiders’ strong start to the campaign continued in impressive fashion at the HDAnwhere Community Stadium as a stunning opening goal from Lewis Platt was then followed by strikes from Dave Reynolds, Luke Corbett (penalty), Reece King and Paul Edwards.

The win, which also saw local rivals Pegasus have a player sent off midway through the first half, was Malvern’s third league win on the bounce following wins against Smethwick and Bilston Town Community.

With nine points out of nine, and the fact Black Country Rangers fell to defeat last night against Dudley Town, Malvern now top the league on goal difference.

Les Jones’ side have netted 13 goals in three games without conceding a single goal. No other side in the division has scored more yet this season.

Malvern return to action next Wednesday (August 24) at home to Bewdley Town.
