MALVERN Town returned to winning ways on Saturday as they beat Shifnal Town 4-2 in the West Midlands Premier Division.
The victory ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions for the Hillsiders, who remain in the top three.
Dave Reynolds and Nathan Hughes fired Malvern into a 2-0 lead inside 26 minutes but it was to prove a tricky afternoon for the hosts.
Shifnal hit back in the second half as strikes from Will Wells and Kartel O’Neil Martin restored parity.
However, Les Jones’ side bounced back to secure the three points when Louis Loader tapped home in the 79th minute before Lewis Platt wrapped up the win in the final minute.
Malvern Town return to action on Saturday when they visit runaway leaders Haughmond.
Saturday’s hosts sit two points clear and are seeking a tenth consecutive league win.
