RUSHWICK had rain on their side as they moved into the Worcestershire County League Division Three promotion spots after battling hard for a losing draw at home to league champions Lye.
Lye had amassed an imposing target of 330 all out after 49 overs, thanks to some big scoring from Waqas Ahmed (119), Nadeem Hussain (70no) and Tanzeel Rehman (64).
Phil Hamilton responded with a fine 89 in the second innings to ensure Rushwick passed the required losing draw total, gaining ten valuable points for reaching 257-5 from their allotted 51 overs.
With Harborne and Netherton having their games fall foul of the weather, it now means Rushwick only need to overcome Eastnor on Saturday to guarantee a second-placed finish.
