UPDATE: Malvern Town announce capture of striker Kyonn Evans from Littleton

STRIKER Kyonn Evans becomes Malvern Town’s third summer signing after agreeing a move to Les Jones’ side from Midland League Division One outfit Littleton.

The 24-year-old scored eight goals in 29 appearances for the Ton Boys last season.

Evans joins the HDAnywhere Community Stadium in the footsteps of former Walsall Wood and Evesham United striker Ben Evans and versatile defender Jay Sauntson who has agreed terms to depart Westfields.

Jones has acted quickly to bring in new players, especially after losing star striker Dave Reynolds and midfielder Nathan Hayward to Worcester City, winger Lewis Platt to Westfields and midfielder Reece King to Gloucester City.

The Town boss also revealed he is hopeful of bringing in two or three more attacking options before pre-season gets underway with an away trip at Bromyard Town on Tuesday, July 11.

“Kyonn has the hunger needed to be a top player and we believe together we can achieve both the club’s and his own ambitions,” Jones said.

“Ben is also exactly the kind of striker we were looking to bring into the squad.

“He’s another talented and hungry individual who will fit perfectly into what we are trying to build at Malvern Town.

“Jay has had experience of playing at a higher level and has a very good pedigree.

“He’s a local lad just like Ben and Kyonn and comes into a squad which will be going for promotion next season.”

With a tough pre-season schedule ahead, Jones says he is looking forward to pushing his squad to the limit before the season starts on August 5.

“Having a difficult pre-season is exactly what we need to get us into shape,” he added.

“There are a few lads I’m looking at who are coming to pre-season training with us so there could be some future signings on the horizon.”
