MALVERN Town’s under-18s secured silverware by winning the under-21s section of the St John’s Colts Tournament.
The Hillsiders beat St John’s Colts 3-2 in the final to lift the trophy.
Under-18s manager Stewart Watkins said: “I felt we were maybe wasteful with chances, but overall I was happy with what I saw and it was nice to get pre-season underway with some silverware.
“The lads can be pleased with the way in which they performed and conducted themselves, particularly Matty Butler, a local Malvern lad who stood out with a terrific display and a great goal.
“We will continue to build and work hard in training.
“The philosophy the club now has in giving youth a chance and having a clear pathway has really galvanised the lads and they are eager to show what they are capable of.”
