JOINT-BOSS Dene Whittal-Williams was left a happy man after his Malvern Town side drew 1-1 with higher-ranked Alvechurch in a pre-season friendly last Thursday night.
Joshua Hunt put the Hillsiders ahead with 15 minutes to go before the Southern League Central visitors – three levels above West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division side Malvern – equalised moments later.
Whittal-Williams said: “The lads worked hard and stuck to the game plan to build on the foundations that were laid against Worcester.
“We worked together well both on and off the ball and there were pleasing performances all over the pitch.
“I was delighted with the way in which the young lads came in and acquitted themselves.
“The philosophy here is if they are capable and can do a job, they will get their chance.
“The result was a bonus but I am happy with the building blocks which have been put in place so far.”
