MALVERN residents are being urged to lace up their running shoes and take part in the latest 12-week Couch to 5k programme, writes Henri Bujard.
The programme has been set up by Malvern Hills District Council and is ideal for adults who want to improve their confidence, stamina, fitness and well-being.
Run leader Rachel Vann is fully qualified in running fitness and will provide learners with free training, advice and support throughout the 12 weeks.
She said: “I love watching people’s confidence and fitness grows on this course.
“Most people who start the programme can only run for 30 seconds, by the end of the 12 weeks, participants can successfully run their first Park Run, non-stop.”
Sessions will be held at Upton Primary School from 9am to 10am starting on Tuesday 21 May, and also at Malvern Town Football Club from 10am to 11am on Thursday 23 May.
The course cost £25 and there are only 12 places available, with a minimum of eight participants needed for the course to run.
