LEE Hooper admits Malvern Town were simply ‘not good enough’ in their FA Cup defeat against rivals Worcester Raiders.
Malvern suffered a shock 4-2 defeat against Worcester in the FA Cup preliminary round at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
And Hooper promised the club would put the performance right this weekend following an uncharacteristic display.
Hooper said: “It was a tough one, we weren’t good enough by any means. We weren’t at it.
“It’s really difficult to say, especially after the last two performances we’ve put in, that was nothing like us.
“The effort, work rate and desire were just nowhere near good enough.
“Do that in the league and you get absolutely romped. They took their chances so credit to them.
“We had an honest chat with the players [after the game].
“We accept as a group that it wasn’t good enough, we’ve got to come away from it and look at the detail as to what that performance happened.
“Sorry to the fans and supporters, I promise we’ll put that right.”
Malvern are next in action against Shaftesbury on Saturday, August 23 with kick-off at 3pm at the HDAnywhere Community Stadium.
